The goal of a company in Carbon County is to preserve the environment a little piece at a time.

The recycler takes on all kinds of waste and turns it into something useful.

A lot of people were bringing in all kinds of liquid wastes to Hazleton Oil and Environmental Incorporated near McAdoo.

If your wondering what to do with the old oil from your car or truck, anti-freeze or those old batteries that is the place to come.

"Do it yourselfers can bring their stuff in here to be recycled. We want them to have a home for it. We don't want them to put it in the back of their yards or down the drain. We want people to bring it to our site where it will be recycled and taken care of properly," said Kristy Heiland of Hazleton Oil and Environmental Inc.

A lot of the material being dropped off is used anti-freeze and motor oil. All will be recycled. The oil can be used by industry as a heat source.

"Usually we sell it as reprocessed waste oil and they can use it in their burners in their waste oil burners. The anti-freeze also gets recycled and we resell that as well and it gets sold as green, red or universal anti-freeze," Heiland explained.

For the Paul Fagan family having a place to get rid of used oil and batteries is a god send at a stressful time.

"My brother passed away and all this stuff was in his house and I didn't know how to get rid of it," said Fagan.

"Every little bit helps. We all do our little part. It's a big thing then. Everybody does their little part to try and make the environment better," said John Pauline of Hazle Township.
