Guilty Verdict in Wilkes-Barre Deadly Shooting
A jury in Luzerne County has found a man accused of homicide guilty.

Josue Faurelus was accused of shooting Christly Aristide to death in October of 2008 on Moyallen Street in Wilkes-Barre.

The jury convicted him on third-degree murder after several hours of deliberations.

Assistant District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce said prosecutors are disappointed the jury didn't return a conviction of first-degree murder. "We felt we put on quite a good first-degree murder case. We had a victim who was shot in the back. We felt the bullet wound in the back convinced the jurors it certainly wasn't self-defense."

Prosecutors in Luzerne County said they will seek the maximum sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison.
