Surrounded by family and even his employer, Todd Rowles of Pleasant Mount arrived at the Wayne County courthouse. He is accused of having sex with a teenage girl. She is 14, he is 33. Police said the offenses occurred between January and October of this year.
State police said there may be more victims.
"We're still investigating this incident. It is possible concerning these circumstances and you never know how many victims there could be. Their best bet is to contact the state police at Honesdale or a state police barracks that they are close to and inform them of what happened," said Trooper John Decker.
Rowles defense attorney said the state's case is full of holes.
"The DNA test did not match that of the defendant. The second thing is that we have evidence that, and we will prove at trial, that this young lady recanted or changed her testimony saying what she told the state police was false," said defense attorney Randy Borden.
"I look at a jury of 12 people to decide whether he is guilty or not. If I didn't think he was guilty he wouldn't have been arrested," said Assistant District Attorney Pat Robinson.
Rowles entered the courtroom a free man but he left in handcuffs.
Rowles is also accused of raping an eight-year-old child and that matter will go before a judge next week.
