A chase through west Scranton Friday night involved shots fired by police.
The chase began around 9 p.m. Friday. By 11 p.m., police had swarmed into Scranton's west wide and said the situation was "under control."
According to witnesses, the incident began when an unmarked state trooper approached a man in a Chevrolet Cobalt. The witness said the driver of the Cobalt took off, hitting an unmarked police car in the process. At some point, police fired a shot at the Cobalt, according to the witness. The witness said police said they had been after the driver for two days.
The Cobalt was eventually located on Dorothy Street and, again, as of 11 p.m. Friday, police said the situation in West Scranton was "under control."
