It is almost time for ghosts and goblins to walk the streets. In downtown Scranton, some businesses are already gearing up, hoping that with the spooky night falling on a weekend, it will scare up some large crowds.

Ghouls and monsters are haunting Kildare's Irish Pub in downtown Scranton, just in time for one of the spookiest nights.

"We've been decorating for just about a month now, everyday a little bit more and we just think it's a great, fun time, and a great time of the year," said assistant manager Henry Augenstein.

It may look like a ghost town now, but managers at Kildare's hope to see lots of bodies come Halloween night.

"We're expecting a great turnout. We're hoping for lots of business, we're ready for it and we're excited about Halloween being on a Saturday," added Augenstein.

Over at The Banshee on Penn Avenue, managers are also hoping for a lively Saturday night crowd.

"It's a weekend night. A lot of people will be coming out, a lot of people will be downtown bar-hopping, so it will be a good time to have everyone out," said Jennifer Sekelski, a manager at The Banshee.

Getting in the spirit of Halloween, people at The Banshee hope characters come out for a little adult trick-or-treating.

"Everyone likes dressing up; it's always a good time. Instead of getting candy, everyone's going out and getting beer instead," said Sekelski.

Some students at the University of Scranton are also glad Halloween falls on a weekend.

"There's not going to be any classes the next day. Sunday is a pretty relaxing day to begin with so having it on Saturday is just an extra benefit," said sophomore Marguerite Quinn.

"It should be a lot of fun. We're got a couple days before, Thursday and Friday are going to be big nights too, leading up to Saturday," added sophomore Sean McNichol.

With the clocks flying back early Sunday morning, it could mean an extra bewitching hour this Halloween.
