Police said the first robbery happened at the Sunoco on South Main Avenue in Scranton.
Investigators said around 12:30 a.m. a man approached the clerk with several items, as if he was going to pay for them.
Police said the clerk recognized the robber, saying he was a regular customer. That's when, the clerk said, the suspect pulled a knife, demanded money and took off.
There is no word how much money he got.

The clerk told police the man brought items up to the counter as if to pay for them.
When the clerk opened the drawer, the suspect reached across and grabbed cash out of the register.
In the second robbery, police said, the suspect did not show a weapon.
No one was hurt during either crime.
Police have not made any arrests.
