A security guard threatened to shoot up a school in Schuylkill County and now police are searching for the man.
Shenandoah police and Schuylkill County detectives entered the home of Carlos Clintron Friday. Court papers state he has admitted writing threats aimed at the Shenandoah Valley School District and a school principal. He was a security guard at the school.
"I am shocked. I really am," said neighbor Cindy Crist. "I can't believe that something like that would come out. I am wondering if it was taken out of context or they were taken the wrong way and it came out the wrong way about it because I can't see him threatening to hurt anybody."
Court papers said Clintron wrote in a report to his superiors, "I request time off to slit the throat of the principal."
That principal is Phil Andras. He didn't want to talk about the threats but wants to reassure parents. "Just know that we're in normal operation that the students are safe on campus and there is no change to a common or normal day than we're having at shenandoah Valley," Andras said.
Court papers also state Clintron wrote, "There will be another Virginia Tech situation and no one will care. This town doesn't exist."
In 2007 a gunman massacred 32 people and wounded others at Virginia Tech before taking his own life.
Court papers said Clintron owns three, 45 caliber handguns.
Because of the threats, Shenandoah valley officials had more security guards brought in to protect the staff and students.
"There is more than they usually do. They are everywhere," said student Amanda Laurusedge.
"I was shocked," said student Steve Gottshall, "because he is a good guy. He was a good security guard."
The owner of Anthracite Protective Services said Carlos Clintron has been fired. Nothing in his background check revealed a problem and his company is picking up the tab for the extra security at the Shenandoah Valley School District.
