Another in a series of arsons has hit the Schuylkill County village of Llewellyn. This time a pile of tires.

The latest crime comes a week after $15,000 was spent hauling away a dump, that was the site of several arsons. The pile of tires came from the dump. The tires were temporarily being stored nearby. Paul Kennedy of the Good Intent Fire company says, "We were kind of afraid that this was going to happen, part of the reason we did this whole project was to eliminate the threat but we didn't get them out of here fast enough."

The latest fire created another problem. A water main broke when firefighters hooked up a hydrant. It created a few flooded basements. All courtesy of the arsonist. Jim Pothering, another member of the fire company says "We thought the arsonist, he quit but we still must have someone that thinks fires are great but it's dangerous." Joe Wank a Branch Township supervisor agrees. "We don't know what place he's going to hit next and if he hits a place where there is children and all in, and then it could turn out to be a tragedy (edit) and we have an empty house down here with nobody living in it, thats what has me worried next."

90 year old Mary Gutswa lives next to a vacant home. Gutswa is fearful. "I am always afraid this house will catch on fire and come into my house . they haven't caught him yet so it's a problem."

Firefighters are asking for the public for help. They request anyone who has information about the rash of arsons to call State Police.
