Good food is in high demand in one part of Schuylkill County. A business which opened just seven months ago is already expanding.

If you travel along Route 309 near Hometown, you may notice an expansion underway at Basile's Italian Restaurant.

It's part of a dream come true for Vito Basile. He opened his restaurant just seven months ago, and business has been so good, the place has to get bigger.

"I don't like when someone has to stand at door a half hour for table. That's why we're building another extension," Basile said.

Vito's wife, Paola, admits she's surprised that things have worked out.

"Everybody, when we bought this property said it was a big mistake because there was nothing here. It's in the middle of nowhere but it worked out," said Paola Basile.

That kind of success is good news for the workers. It means job stability.

"The job market now is really bad and we're just happy to have a job and we have business everyday and we're able to keep our jobs," said waitress Jennifer King.

Customers said they go there for the good food and service.

"Any business that can survive in this economy is a great thing, so I'm happy for them," said customer Janet Kester.

It takes a lot of work to make the restaurant turn a profit.

"I don't have any days off right now. I work seven days a week for a 12 hour day, every day," Vito Basile said.

The restaurant owners said if business continues to grow, they may have to expand the expansion.
