Fire Destroys Family's Dream Home
A family of five Schuylkill County is wondering what to do now after losing everything in a Thanksgiving Day fire.

James Beigler looked over all that was left of what he called his family's dream home near Schuylkill Haven.

"This is where I wanted my kids to live forever. This is where I wanted them to bring their kids on Thanksgiving, stuff like that," said Beigler. "It was home."

Beigler and his wife and three young children were about to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at his mother's house Thursday evening when he got the news and raced home.

"I parked up the street and ran down the street, and my neighbor grabbed me and said, 'It's real bad.' It was. He was right," said Beigler.

The family cat managed to escape. Firefighters said it was too late to save the house. Beigler said his family has insurance, but the family lost everything from thousands of dollars worth of tools to musical instruments.

"The kids' stuff upset me the most," said Beigler. "That's what really made me sad. I watched them rake out the stuff I buy and play with them."

Investigators call the fire accidental. They believe flames broke out in an area near the clothes dryer. The Beigler family is now staying with relatives and getting help from the American Red Cross.
