State police are looking for whoever stole some expensive heavy machinery from a farm supplier in Northumberland County.
It is just the latest heavy machinery to go missing from area businesses in the last year.
There is something missing, in fact two somethings missing at Rovendale Ag & Barn near Watsontown.
Sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning, thieves made off with two New Holland Skid Steers, according to investigators.
"Things like this shouldn't happen. The world we live in, you hear about it, it doesn't happen to me. Yesterday morning it happened," said Donny Rovenolt, owner of Rovendale Ag & Barn.
Rovenolt is now out nearly $60,000 worth of equipment.
"We're going to have to put some cameras up and we're going to have to enclose things a little more," added Rovenolt.
Thieves dragged the machines, leaving tracks that lead to the loading docks. It is where police think the skid steers were hauled away in the middle of the night.
"We have a pretty high deductible with our insurance to keep our costs down, so it costs me out of my pocket all the time," said Rovenolt.
Heavy machinery dealers along Interstate 180 figure they are so close to the highway, it makes it easier for criminals to get off the highway, pick up the equipment and make off without anyone noticing.
"They've struck again in the Watsontown area, yes," said Al Reeves of Valley Ag & Turf.
Nearby, Valley Ag & Turf has installed some motion lights and a gate to keep thieves out.
The John Deere supplier is one of four area businesses to be ripped off like this in the last year.
"Last time we were hit they took some of the compact utility tractors, and lawn and garden tractors," added Reeves.
Troopers are investigating but have not connected the crimes.
Anyone with information can call state police at 570-524-2662.
