A woman from Stroudsburg on trial for allegedly stealing more than $100,000 from her dying boyfriend testified Thursday in her own defense.

She told jurors it is all a big misunderstanding.

Ginger Thompson is charged with theft and forgery after police said she stole $110,000 from her boyfriend, 82-year-old Sam Tambasco, who died in February.

She took the stand saying it was all part of a plan she made with Tambasco. Thompson told jurors all of the tens of thousand dollars in cash withdrawals, the purchases of diamond jewelry and the two cars she bought for a friend were investments for Tambasco's grandson and that's why she paid for the items using Tambasco's debit card and forging his signature on checks.

Earlier in the week the grandson, 18-year-old Sammy Tambasco told jurors he received no money from Thompson. He also said his grandfather was not always fully aware during the last few months of his life.

The prosecution argues Thompson took advantage of her dying boyfriend.

While on the stand thompson said it wasn't like that She insisted that $76,000 in cash is still somewhere in a gray storage box set aside for Sammy, however no one, not even Thompson, knows where that storage box is.

The trial is expected to continue Friday.
