Truck Crashes into Winery
A tractor-trailer on Route 33 in Monroe County went off the road Thursday morning and crashed through the gates of the Cherry Valley Winery.

The Fed Ex truck was headed north on Route 33 near the Saylorsburg exit, south of Stroudsburg, when the crash happened. State police said the driver changed lanes and lost control of the truck. It went over a guide rail and down a steep hill before crashing into stone wall and gate at the Cherry Valley Winery.

The driver, a man from the Chicago area, was trapped in the cab of the truck. He had to be freed by emergency crews. A second man, also from Chicago, managed to get out of the truck on his own. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.

There was a similar crash near the same location on Route 33. After that crash the owner of the winery started a petition to lower the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph.
