Her team might have lost the World Series this week but one Phillies fan in the Poconos has won big. She walked away with a new car and season tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies.
It's been a rough week for Phillies fans. That is, every Phillies fan except Kimberly Bennett of Gilbert.
"A couple of months ago me and my husband were looking for a car we came across AutoTrader.com and saw that they were having a contest and I thought I''ll give it a try and enter the contest," said Bennett.
The online contest was through AutoTrader.com, a website that helps folks find new or used cars. Bennett had some competition.
"Almost a million people went online and played the game and Kim was the eventual winner," said John Waring, of AutoTrader.com.
"They told me congratulations. You won the grand prize which the first prize of $25,000 towards a new car and Phillies season tickets and I couldn't believe it," Bennett said. She picked up her new Honda Accord at Ray Price Honda in East Stroudsburg. She said it's just in time too.
"My husband drives very far to go to work and he needed a new car. It was about time at the end of the year we want to purchase a car and we were looking around this happened to come along and it came at the right time," said Bennett.
As for the season tickets to the Phils Bennett said her husband and son are already making plans for next year.
"Being able to be there and see the progress possibly to see them again would be fantastic!" said Bennett.
Bennett hopes her good lucks rubs off on the Phillies and they win the World Series next year.
