Voters shot down a plan to increase taxes to help fund a new campus for Northampton County College. School officials said gaming legislation being considered by state lawmakers could provide the funds they need.
"That will act as the local match to help us build the campus so we are hopeful within two to three weeks we'll be able to announce some good news," said Dr. Matt Connell, dean of NCC Monroe Campus.
School officials said if the legislation is approved, construction on the campus would begin as soon as possible.
