Police in Monroe County are trying to find whoever broke into a bank through the roof.

It happened sometime over the holiday weekend in Mount Pocono.

Officers were seen on the roof of the Penn Security Bank and Trust near the five points intersection in Mount Pocono Tuesday morning.

Sometime over the holiday weekend, police said, someone cut a hole into bank's roof and made it inside the building. Investigators are not saying how the intruder cut through the roof.

Bank employees discovered the hole when they showed up for work Tuesday morning.

Police said they are checking to see if the bank's alarm went off during the break-in. They are also working to get surveillance pictures of the suspect.

The bank was closed for a couple of hours while the break-in was investigated.

The bank's branch manager said the bank's staff always locks up all the money over night and over the weekend so they don't think the burglar got away with much if anything.
