An elderly woman fined hundreds of dollars for neglecting animals has been bailed out by a total stranger.

"I have helped a lot of people out. I think this lady touched my heart more than anybody because she is alone. Now what is she going to do?" asked Norma Young of Stroudsburg. Young was talking about someone she has never met, 74-year-old Judith Kresge.

On Wednesday Kresge was found guilty of seven violations of animal cruelty and faced $900 of fines and court costs after police. Pennsylvania SPCA officers found more than 60 birds living in squalor in her Stroud Township mobile home last December.

Kresge's daughter Wendy, 45, was also found dead from an illness in a back room of the home.

In court Kresge said she didn't have money to pay the fines.

"I had nobody to help me or my daughter. Her and I existed alone," Kresge said Wednesday.

Norma Young heard of Kresge's story and despite the fact she had never met the elderly woman, she decided to take action.

"The more I thought about it. The more I thought to myself where is she going to get the money?" Young said.

Young then went down to the Magistrate Court in Stroud Township and paid all of Kresge's fines and court costs, around $900 in total. She said she is also trying to get someone to stop by Kresge's home and help her clean up.

"The more I saw it and the picture I thought it's gone on too long and nobody cares," Young added. She said she cares.

Newswatch 16 spoke with Judith Kresge about Young helping her out and Kresge said she was thankful.
