A man who pleaded guilty to fatally beating a toddler will spend at least 17-and-a-half years in prison.
Fabian Peterkin of Williamsport was sentenced Thursday. He pleaded guilty in August to third-degree murder and other charges in the death of his girlfriend's year-and-a-half old son last year.
Peterkin was caring for Maquise Hanible when he beat the toddler, then blamed his death on an accidental drowning in the tub.
An autopsy report showed the child suffered blunt force injuries to his chest and buttocks, broken ribs, lacerations to the heart and several other internal organs.
Peterkin was sentenced to 17-and-a-half years to 52 years in prison.
