Big Pot Bust in Nanticoke
A major marijuana bust in Nanticoke netted more than 1,000 suspected pot plants and about $100,000 in cash.

State Police from the Wyoming barracks in Luzerne County were involved in the operation, along with Nanticoke Police, New Jersey State Police and agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency.

According to troopers, the bust began around 10 a.m. Friday and continued into the evening. Authorities searched several locations in Nanticoke including the LS Bowl A Rama. In all, troopers say they confiscated 1,151 marijuana plants, three pounds of processed marijuana and about $100,000 in cash.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and several people are expected to be charged.
