A man from Luzerne County will spend at least a year in prison after pleading guilty to hitting a man with his car and killing him, then leaving the scene.
Austin Knight of Dallas pleaded guilty in October to accidents involving death or personal injury. Knight was driving to work in October, 2008 when he struck Ray Falcone, 85, of Laflin as he was walking along Laflin Road.
Knight continued on to work, leaving Falcone in the road. He then told a supervisor what happened, who called police.
Knight was sentenced Friday to one to two years in prison.
