Another round of heavy storms hit late Friday afternoon, and this time it was Luzerne County that took a big hit.

In Swoyersville Main Street was closed after water and debris filled the street. Crews had to use everything from heavy equipment to brooms to clear the debris and mud off the street.

A home on Watkins Street was struck by lightning during the storm. A small fire was sparked in the basement of the home. There were no reports of injuries.

In the borough of Luzerne, several streets were affected by the weather, including flooding by run-off water and one street that was closed by a mudslide.

"The rain came really quick and then we looked out the window and we saw a lot of debris coming and it got worse and worse and we looked down the road and a car was under water and it just kept coming and coming and coming," said Zaxarias Germanos.

Street crews in Swoyersville said Main Street will remain closed for several hours. A guide rail was broken by erosion due to the weather. A PennDOT crew will have to come in to make repairs.
