Rapist Sentecned In Lackawanna County Court
A child rapist in Lackawanna County is going to prison.

Eric Baez of Carbondale was convicted in November of 2008 of raping a 6-year-old girl a year earlier.

On Wednesday, a Lackawanna County judge sentenced Baez to 53 to 130 years in prison.

Investigators said the six-year-old girl was raped in October of 2007 but police didn't know about what happened because no one told them, not the suspect and not one of the little girl's family members, even though they said the girl went to the woman for help.

Detectives said Baez held down and raped a six-year-old girl late one night in October, 2007. Baez was not arrested until more than a month after the alleged attack.

According to detectives, the sex assault happened at Louise Lambides's house on Dundaff Street in Carbondale. According to the arrest report, the little girl told Lambides what happened. She then said, "If he calls again, we'll just hang up on him." Detectives said just "hanging up on him" was clearly not helping the girl. For what she didn't do at her home, Lambides is charged with endangering the welfare of children.
