There will be no fireworks at PNC Field this weekend in Lackawanna County.
The decision comes after two people were hurt in an accident involving fireworks at the field last weekend. One of the fireworks exploded prematurely in the rack, setting off the rest of the fireworks in that rack. The two men burned work for the fireworks company.
Fireworks had been scheduled Friday and Saturday after the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees games.
Friday night's incident has been ruled an accident by a state police fire marshal, but the team will re-evaluate the post game fireworks with police and fire officials, as well as county commissioners and the stadium authority before more shows will be scheduled.
