Woman Gets Probation for False Reports
A woman who tried to help hide a car used in a hit and run has escaped jail time.

Jennifer Weinerth, 21, was sentenced Tuesday to two years probation, the first three months of which will be house arrest. She pleaded guilty this summer to filing a false report related to a hit and run crash last September in Scranton.

Jackie Nieratko of Pittston was hit as she was crossing Davis Street.

Police said Weinerth's boyfriend, Cory Zaleski, was driving the car that hit Nieratko. He pleaded guilty to drunk driving and other offenses in Lackawanna County.
