Commissioner A.J. Munchak and former commissioner Bob Cordaro are accused of taking thousands of dollars in bribes while they were in office together.
On Tuesday they were indicted on federal charges.
Attorneys for both men said they will plead not guilty.
Wednesday Lackawanna County's majority commissioners publicly called for Munchak to resign.
One question raised by the corruption scandal in Lackawanna County is who is the contractor who may still be doing business with the Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton International Airport?
"How we could go about requesting formally through the FBI names of those contractors who are allegedly involved in this kickback scheme?" asked Luzerne County Commissioner Maryanne Petrilla.
In a 40-count federal indictment handed down this week, federal authorities said former Lackawanna County commissioner Bob Cordaro received thousands of dollars from a company in 2004 in exchange for allowing it to continue working at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.
The board decided to have lawyers for both counties contact the FBI to find out if that contractor is still doing work at the airport.
If that's the case, board members said their course of action has not been decided.
"We don't know who these people are so we're not in a position to say what the response is going to be," said Lackawanna County Commissioner Mike Washo.
All county commissioners from both Lackawanna and Luzerne counties were present at the meeting, including indicted Commissioner A.J. Munchak.
Though his fellow Lackawanna County commissioners have called for his resignation, he said he's here to stay. "I'm not resigning from this board or as county commissioner. I'm innocent until proven guilty," said Munchak.
