A former bus driver said Tuesday he didn't do it. Two students have accused the man of duct taping their mouths.
Former bus driver Walter Slavinsky said he was forced to resign from the Southern Columbia Area School District because of the accusation.
He maintains he didn't do it and the whole incident was a misunderstanding.
Slavinsky said he was a bus driver at Southern Columbia Area School District for about six years until last week. Slavinsky said last week he used duct tape to repair some seats on his bus. One of the boys on the bus became unruly. Slavinsky recounted he said to the boy, "You better be quiet or I'll put some (duct tape) on you."
The boy then put the tape on his own mouth. Slavinsky said the boy told the school district Slavinsky put the tape on the boy's mouth.
He was asked to resign.
A bus driver who worked with Slavinsky, who did not want to be identified, said Slavinsky didn't do it.
"I think with his personality and the way he kids around with the kids and has a good repertoire with the kids. I don't believe he did this," said the bus driver.
Officials from the school district said the investigation is now in the hands of the Locust Township police. Officers said they are questioning possible witnesses and investigating the incident.
