A pilot survived a plane crash this morning in Clinton County

The pilot was spraying for gypsy moths caterpillars near Lock Haven when the plane's wing clipped a power line, said investigators.

"There must be a place here that he didn't see the wires on one of the turnarounds. And he got a little too close, clipped the wing. That caused him to come down," said Ron Fite of Tallman's Aerial Spraying.

The job was almost finished and the pilot was ready to head home to Michigan, according to coworkers. The crash destroyed the plane and pinned the pilot.

"We got him out, took a while to get him out, off the mountain, believe he's going to be O.K." explained Chief Norman Wolfrom of Citizens Hose Company.

The pilot, Jimmie Kemp, 54, suffered only minor injuries, according to state police.

Federal investigators are looking into the crash in Clinton County.
