An elderly woman was killed Monday morning after a five-vehicle crash closed Route 209.
It happened near Ridgeview Road near Palmerton. Police said a southbound car driven by a 75-year-old woman crossed the center line and drove into on-coming traffic. Four vehicles, including two Blue Ridge Cable trucks were involved in the crash. The driver of the southbound car died at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Police said the woman who died was not wearing a seatblt.
