Newswatch 16 is expanding its live news on its sister station, WNEP2.
Beginning January 1, you will no longer be watching Newswatch 16 at 10 on WOLF Fox 56. Newswatch 16 at 10 will be moving to WNEP2.
"This is something we've been considering for quite a while," said WNEP President and General Manager Chuck Morgan. "Doing the news on WOLF was a good opportunity at the time but our fist goal is to do our news on our own station. For many years we didn't have that opportunity. Now we do. The success of the 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. news on WNEP2 has proven that our sister station is a viable second channel. It just makes sense to continue that success by bringing our 10 p.m. news home."
WNEP will continue to produce the 10 p.m. news on Fox 56 through the end of the year. The newscast is anchored by Paola Giangiacomo. While Giangiacomo is on her anticipated maternity leave, the desk will be temporarily filled by former Newswatch 16 This Morning anchor Kim Supon.
WNEP2 can be found on most cable systems and over the air on 16.2. Most satellite customers can add WNEP2 to their lineup with the addition of a simple antenna.
