SCRANTON, Pa. — The first woman to ever serve as mayor of Scranton is running for election to a full four-year term.
Mayor Paige Cognetti formally announced her re-election bid.
Cognetti ran as an Independent in the 2019 special election, following the resignation of former Mayor Bill Courtright, who faced criminal charges.
Mayor Cognetti announced that she'll be running as a Democrat in the 2021 election for mayor of Scranton.
